Cake ingredients

  • 1 c all purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ½ stick butter, softened
  • ½ c sugar
  • 1 large egg, room temperature
  • 4 oz white chocolate, melted
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ¾ c milk

Frosting ingredients

  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • ½ stick unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 oz white chocolate, melted and slightly cooled
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3 tsp milk
  • 2 to 3 c powdered sugar


  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F. Grease a 12 capacity muffin tin or line the holes with paper cases.
  2. In a medium bowl, mix together flour, baking powder and salt. Set aside.
  3. Beat the butter and sugar together on a high speed until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the egg, white chocolate and vanilla extract until well incorporated.
  5. Slowly add the flour mix, alternating with the milk, ending with the flour mix. Mix until just combined ensuring you do not over mix.
  6. Spoon the mixture into prepared muffin tin.
  7. Bake for 20 to 23 minutes, or until a skewer inserted into the center comes out clean. Transfer them to a wire rack to cool.
  8. To make the frosting, cream together the cream cheese, butter and white chocolate.
  9. Beat in vanilla and milk, then add in the powdered sugar gradually until the frosting reaches your desired consistency.
  10. Pipe the frosting onto the fully cooled cupcakes and decorate as desired.
